Request for Research Assistance

 
The SBCGS Research Assistants will perform limited Santa Barbara County research on an 'as time available' basis. We do not have a set charge for our research services, but do appreciate a donation made to the Society. Please use the link below to submit a request and the PayPal button below to submit a donation, or mail a check made out to SBCGS to the address below.
 
Extensive genealogical research cannot be performed. The type of assistance that is available includes
  • obituary look-ups
  • city directory look-ups
  • look-ups in the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society library collection
  • limited research in the UCSB genealogical collections
  • cemetery and gravestone photographs
  • Santa Barbara News Press searches
  • Vital records from the Santa Barbara County Courthouse: Burial Permits, Marriage Records (applications, licenses, certifications)
  • Civil War Veteran research
  • naturalization documents
  • probate files
  • McDermott-Crockett Mortuary records 1914-1974
  • Wills at Gledhill Library
  • To come: Holland and Welch-Ryce-Haider Mortuary records - 1924-1960+ (in process of being indexed and digitized)
  • Dutch Research Mieke Hawner
  • land records: mortgages, preemptive claims, homesteads, mining claims
  • Coroner's investigations
  • doctors' periodic death reports
  • Polish Research Diane Sylvester
